Wellness Research

Wellness Research

My research on well-being uses digital methods and rhetorical analysis to investigate wellness writing. I focus on motifs that reveal common themes in wellness writing. This research not only teaches wellness literacy but also reveals core wellness advice. The result is a new, research-informed way of looking at wellness that will lead to better lives.

Reading Wellness

My book project Reading Wellness: The Language You Need to Transform Your Life shows readers struggling with information overload how to make sense of wellness writing. It explores how figurative language, storytelling, and unexpected motifs that range from botany to journeys to wiring (even battle imagery) reveal surprising insights about well-being. We can all learn wellness literacy. And when we do, we discover a new view on health, the brain, relationships, emotions—a whole set of timeless topics.

Wellness and Teaching

Developing campus programs and teaching courses now calls for attention to health, emptions, resilience--a whole host of wellness concerns.
